Some American news outlets are writing articles highlighting the U.S. Dollar Value of the Christmas gifts given to the Obamas. The gift of a bottle of Palestinian olive oil to the Obamas from President Abbas is being heartily mocked.
A malicious and unnecessary broadcast.
That bottle of olive oil is more precious than gold - as the comparison goes - and even that comparison falls short.
Frankly, here is one American who would be honored and grateful to have a bottle of Palestinian olive oil. Even more frankly, the price of olive oil might not be prohibitive for the average family had the Palestinians been permitted to continue producing it, as they had been for centuries before God told his chosen people's government to lay waste to Palestine's olive trees.
The United States government has given the Israeli government everything it needed to initiate and enforce a doctrine of "Manifest Destiny" against the Palestinians (and this has been pointed out by Israeli leaders). The number of olive groves that Israel has destroyed is higher than most folks can calculate with their handy-dandy devices. Determining the number of olive groves that remain would be incalculably less problematic.
Look forward to future posts with details about what is going on in Palestine and how ignorant we Americans are kept about how our money is being spent (and has been since 1948) in vigorous response to God's Will. And likely also some attention to the theft of Native American Trust money by our government which has broken every treaty ever signed with the people whose land was our Manifest Destiny - also courtesy of God's Will.
